What Is The Oldest Spice You’ve Found In Your Spice Rack?
Or do you rotate them every few months as you are supposted to?
I was making chili and found a chili power from the mid 80’s. I didn’t use it.

Curry powder, sell-by date was 1993, and when I opened the box, there was no more curry, just lots and lots and lots of dead insects, and maybe some that were not-so-dead, but I didn’t check..
What I want to know is how the insects got there in the first place..I mean… Curry powder????
Good call, not using that Chili powder.
Last summer, I was cleaning for a lady and she asked me to clean out her fridge.
Some of her condiments were from 1994–and she was upset that I’d tossed them.lol
I still got paid for the job, though.

That is pretty old. Once I found parsley from like, 1996. It looked normal and when I put some in my hand, it like, disintegrated into an ultra fine powder.
I think I have some turmeric from either the late 60’s or early 70’s. It was my mom’s. (Although I don’t recall her ever making anything with it!) I don’t use it, I bought new turmeric. I just have the canister since it’s probably an antique or something by this time.

do you have an answer to why today’s chili powder costs so much?
1980’s not near the pollutions or pesticides back then… not to forget the radiation element or genetic alterations.

Smell spice,, taste it,, It is basically pure to start with.

My sister was given a spice rack when she got married in 1985, it hung on the wall of there 2nd house until last year when they were painting and tried to take the spices out of the rack, and the were stuck to the rack, they had to put it apart, all McCormicks and not one was ever opened???
